There is much talk right now about blood moons and Tetrads, where four total lunar eclipses occur in a row six months apart. I wouldn’t take it as “the end of the world”, but I do see it as an interesting sign.
The first Tetrad eclipse begins on 15th April 2014, on the Jewish Day of Passover. There is also a solar eclipse in the mix.
First, the statistics
How common are Lunar Tetrads? From 1600 to 1800 we had none. Last century we had five. This century we will have eight. I’ve worked out a frequency of every 35 years, which is 5000 years div by 142, the number of Tetrads over that time, from NASA:

It’s no accident the Jewish feasts sometimes land on eclipses. God does use the moon for signs;
And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, Genesis 1:14
There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars … Luke 21:25
A lunar calendar
The ancient Jewish or Biblical calendar was primarily a lunar calendar. The Jewish Feasts, ordained by God, are observed by New Moons.
Here’s an interesting fact – the period of a New Moon was given to Moses. It is encoded in 4 letters, 42 letters apart, starting with the first letter of the opening passage of Genesis; “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth …”
The four letters represented a number, and from that number one could calculate the length of the lunar month, critical to observing the feasts still celebrated by Orthodox Jews.
Jewish tradition holds that when God gave the written Torah, He also gave Moses the length of the lunar month. It is identical to modern scientific estimates that could only be obtained by satellite.

An omen of war
Blood red moons are considered to be an omen of war for Israel according to ancient Jewish tradition.
Of the Tetrads that have occurred in the last 500 years, only three Tetrads have all fallen on the Feasts of the Lord. Those three are found in the years 1949-1950, 1967-1968, and the approaching one 2014-2015.
In 1967 the Tetrad began on Passover and the Six Day war broke out against Israel six weeks later.
Jesus did say there would be signs on the earth and the heavens before He returned, and there is the prophecy from Joel;
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come. Joel 2:31.
Bad Moon Rising
So I thought about it during my Bible reading. Instead of getting a scripture, the words to the Creedance Clearwater song “Bad Moon Rising” came to mind.
I see the bad moon arising,
I see trouble on the way,
I see earthquakes and lightnin’,
I see bad times today.
The lyrics are quite prophetic. God can and will use the “prophets of the world” to speak to us, so I did a bit of digging about the song. The song came out in 1969. Fogerty from Creedance Clear Water Revival reportedly wrote the song “Bad Moon Rising” after watching a film called “The Devil and Daniel Webster”. The film is set in 1840 New Hampshire, where poor, downtrodden farmer Jabez Stone sells his soul to “Mr. Scratch” in return for seven years of luck and prosperity. ‘Jabez’ means sorrow or trouble.
It reminds me of another covenant with “Mr Scratch”, a folkname for the Devil. There is a prophecy in the Bible, given by the angel Gabriel to the prophet Daniel, involving Israel, where ‘he’ will confirm a covenant with many for 7 years. Daniel 9:27. God calls it a “covenant with hell”, after He speaks in Isaiah 28:15-16 of laying a precious cornerstone in Zion which was rejected.
The stone of stumbling
The precious stone represents Jesus Christ, the King. This stone is precious to God, but to those opposed to God’s rule and government the stone means trouble.
Now to you who believe, this stone is precious.
But to those who do not believe,
“The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone
and
a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.”
1 Peter 2:7-8
In a dream King Nebacudnezzar, the King of Babylon, saw the stone break into pieces a statue that represented the kingdoms from his time down to our time. The stone and the statue are described in the Bible in Daniel 2.
Whatever happens in the near future, we must choose which Kingdom to belong to in the “new world order” that will emerge. Will it be the Kingdom of Anti-Christ represented by the eye and the pyramid, or the Kingdom of God represented by the stone the builders rejected?
