Faith and flaming arrows

As a wall of fire reported to be 60 feet high and moving at 90 kilometres an hour bore down from the Mallacoota wharf, where thousands of people huddled for safety, David Jeffery used his faith.  Literally.

Jeffery, the owner of the Wave Oasis B&B in Mallacoota, and two older “prayer warriors” (along with many others around the nation) were praying.

“I prayed, ‘Lord if you don’t push this [fire] back now, we need [wind] from the east.’ As soon as I said that, it started blowing from the east a little bit. Then I got louder and [the wind] got stronger. Then I got louder again and it got stronger again …

“I felt it change. I noticed that the bolder I got, the stronger [the wind got]. I was yelling, ‘In Jesus’ name, thank you Lord for rescuing these souls. Push it back Lord, rescue us!’

“It was desperation personified. I did not care who heard me. I knew then that God was then doing what I was asking. Because if he didn’t answer then, we were dead.”

Noting that no easterly was forecast, Jeffery continues: “What God did was push [the fire] back from the east, which was impossible but he did it. He did that for five minutes, which broke [the fire front] enough to stop it from getting to where we were.”

Jeffrey’s faith acted as a shield for himself and the other people trapped on the beach.

There’s a verse about faith being a shield: “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” Ephesians 6:16

This verse is from a passage in Ephesians that tells believers who they’re fighting and what to do.  I’ll put the passage at the end of this post.

This photo shows what the struggle is against.

“A dairy farmer who spent 13 hours defending his property from a fire that spat out 100m large fireballs has pleaded with the PM to not let any more people die.”

“It hit us like four or five times, the chopper pilots are heroes, they saved it (the property) … I’m very glad people did not get killed here. We’ve got a photo a friend took and I’m not into hooky pooky stuff but there was a big devil face in it.”

“We have a belief there’s political zeitgeist behind this,” said former Australian leader Barnaby Joyce, citing the ways the forests had been neglected.

Zeitgeist means “the spirit of the age.”  I’ll write more about the spirit of the age in a separate post.  Our struggle is not against people.  It’s against the rulers, the authorities, the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil.

Just laws based on the ten commandments act as a protective hedge around a country.  When these laws are changed in favour of the sustainable goals of Agenda 2030, it will leave the country open to attack.  I believe we’ll see an increase in open spiritual warfare.  A Christian’s job is not to be a social justice warrior but to stand in the gap for their land and pray.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:10-12

Apostate churches want action on ‘climate change’ while Australia burns

Australia has suffered a devastating early bush fire season with fires across several states burning through hundreds of thousands of hectares.  New South Wales has been the most severely hit, with more than 1.65m hectares razed, an area significantly larger than suburban Sydney.

AustraliaMap-750x434

Of course the fires have been blamed on climate change.  Are the Australian fires unprecedented?  History would say otherwise.  Australia has always had devastating bush fires.

Hear the voice of a volunteer fire fighter:

“It is high time bureaucrats and politicians stopped blaming climate change for a bushfire crisis that is very much of their own making and is putting lives at risk.”

On Christmas Eve, former Australian leader Barnaby Joyce posted a word about the drought and Australian Bushfires on Twitter – which the media called ‘bizarre,’ but I agree with him.

“You don’t need to convince me the climate’s not changing – the climate’s always changing.  My problem’s always been how a new tax is going to change it back!”

He mentioned a higher authority at work, beyond our comprehension.  “Unless we understand that’s got to be respected, then we’re just fools – we’re going to get nailed.”

I wondered what the Australian Churches are saying about that.  It appears they’ve used their Christmas messages to preach about “climate change,” and put pressure on their prime minister to “take action.”   Even the media have called that disgusting.

They’re no longer preaching about sin and morality!

There’s a Bible proverb that says “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.  Proverbs 14:34

Laws based on the ten commandments protect a nation spiritually.  Have there been any laws made in Australia recently that might remove God’s hand of protection from the land?  In 2017 Australia changed the marriage covenant by bringing in same-sex marriage and now the abortion laws have been decriminalised.  New South Wales was the last state to do it, changing it’s abortion law on September 26th, 2019.   The bush fires broke out soon after in early October.

Is there a link between sin and disaster?  I’m not hearing it from the churches in Australia.

New Zealand is next to decriminalise it’s abortion law in line with the demands of the United Nations SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals.)  Will it be NZ’s turn to “get nailed?” God doesn’t bring disaster or delight in it, the Bible states what’s needed to heal the land in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.

It’s up to you, Australian believers to stand in the gap for your land.  Prayer changes things.  I know you’re out there and we’re with you.

Sewage floods London neighbourhood

London PooClapham Road in Kennington was closed as London had to deal with a river of filthy water from a burst pipe.

The tweets were quick to follow,
#Crapham
#Poonami,
#LondonPoo.

Clapham is described in Wikipedia as an affluent multi-cultural neighbourhood, home to middle-class professionals, and a vibrant Gay community.  Or should it be effluent?

In the early 20th century, Clapham was seen as an ordinary commuter suburb, often cited as representing ordinary people: hence the so-called “Man on the Clapham omnibus”.

The man on the Clapham omnibus is a hypothetical reasonable person, used by the courts in English law where it is necessary to decide whether a party has acted as a reasonable person would.

Kennington is described as  “the politicians’ enclave across the Thames from Westminster” by the The Sunday Times.   The Times observed that “Kennington…is the suburb that has featured the most in the MPs’ expenses scandal.

Do the politicians and other communities in that area still represent ordinary British people?  Is this another warning?

‘Biblical’ floods in UK, unbiblical laws, and Acts of God

Prime Minister Cameron called the UK floods ‘biblical’ after the Thames burst it’s banks on 11th Feb 2014.

This biblical weather is just the latest in a string of severe storms and floods in the UK, beginning with the St. Jude storm on 27-28 October 2013, which was also known as Cyclone ‘Christian’.  According to The Guardian, EU institutions officially referred to the storm as “Christian”.

British flooding Feb 2014

The St Jude storm was so named because it happened on the feast of Saint Jude the Apostle, which takes place on 28 October.  Jude was the brother of Jesus Christ, and one of the Twelve Apostles appointed by Jesus to lead his Church.

Jude wrote urging Christians to contend for the faith, warning about certain people who have secretly slipped in among the Church; ungodly people, who pervert the grace of God into a license for immorality.  Jude 1:4

Queen Elizabeth bears the title “The Defender of the Faith”.  In her coronation oath of 1953 she swore to maintain the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel.

Peers vote for Gays to marry 4-6-13

Peer pressure

Two big events took place in the UK last year; legislation to introduce same-sex marriage, and the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation.  While the Coronation was being celebrated at Westminster Abbey, the peers were voting in parliament to allow same-sex marriage.

On the 4th June 2013, the same day that the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation was marked with a service of celebration at Westminster Abbey, the peers voted to allow David Cameron’s same-sex marriage Bill to continue its passage through parliament.

David Cameron Bible reading Queen's 60th coronation

Meanwhile, at Westminster Abbey, the instigator of the marriage bill hypocritically read from the Bible.  Overlooked was this verse : “By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just …”  Proverbs 8:15.

After that, the Queen broke her oath, by signing the same sex marriage bill, giving it her royal approval.

The legislation to allow same-sex marriage in England and Wales was passed by the Parliament of the United Kingdom in July 2013 and will come into force on 13 March 2014, with the first same-sex marriages taking place on 29 March 2014.

Now they want to get rid of adultery!

“Lawyers and MPs said the distinction over adultery created inequality between heterosexual and homosexual couples in the divorce courts and would lead to confusion.  They said it made it likely that adultery would simply be abolished as a grounds for divorce – either through Parliament or the courts.”

Where are the voices in opposition to this?  The voices of ordinary English people would have been ignored, as they were in NZ.  One brave UK  politician did speak up about it, and got expelled from his political party.

Mr Silvester wrote: “The scriptures make it abundantly clear that a Christian nation that abandons its faith and acts contrary to the Gospel (and in naked breach of a coronation oath) will be beset by natural disasters such as storms, disease, pestilence and war.”  Blaming David Cameron for the bad weather, he added: “It is his fault that large swathes of the nation have been afflicted by storms and floods.”

It appears he is a lone voice in the wilderness, a voice that has been mocked, reviled and ridiculed.

The Church of England has given up the fight, and will be trampled underfoot.

Jesus said “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”  Matthew 5:13

God is trying to get Britain’s attention. If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14.

It’s a promise for ordinary Christians.

Of course, the floods are going to be blamed on “global warming”.  The word should be “warning”.

During the St Jude storm which caused at least 17 deaths, a crane collapsed on top of the Cabinet Office in London, closing Whitehall between Horse Guards Avenue and Parliament Square.  The Cabinet Office supports the Prime Minister and Cabinet of the UK.

The apostle Jude only wrote one chapter of the Bible.  I’ll leave you with his warning;

“Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people.  For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

Jude 1-3Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.   And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgement on the great Day.   In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings.”  Book of Jude.

Parents persecuted in NZ

RespectThe PC brigade strikes again.  In New Zealand, we can no longer discipline our kids in public.

A father took his three children aged nine, seven and five to visit their mother in hospital. He didn’t have to be there as he and the mother were no longer together.  That act of caring brought him an assault charge.

His name is Michael Laws, former Wanganui Mayor. His crime? He smacked one of his children in front of a nurse, who then complained to the police.
“Laws accused over child assault” blares the shrill headline from NZ Yahoo news.

http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/top-stories/20860555/laws-accused-over-child-assault/

Now this father stands accused, and the police are having to investigate a child assault complaint, when their time could be better spent elsewhere.  There are heaps of burglaries to investigate from NZ’s P epidemic.

I have been in that same hospital with my child, where I allowed them to jab her with a needle – and it made her cry. What I did was preventative act of caring, necessary for me to do as a parent.  How come jabbing my daughter with a needle so she wouldn’t catch whooping cough or diptheria is not termethey-had-no-rightd an assault, when giving a quick smack to a child has stepped over the line is!

It’s sad that NZ has been turned into a small-minded nanny state where parents are under threat.

This man was a well known person in Wanganui and a good father.  Where was the nurse’s common sense?  He’s a Dad left bringing up his children on his own in a land of missing fathers and he didn’t deserve this nonsense.  He was visiting his estranged partner and didn’t even have to be there.  His actions were those of a caring parent, not a bad one!

Why did Yahoo news make that nefarious accusation into a headline? You have to get to the second paragraph before you realise what he is guilty of – a smack!  What kind of Orwellian newspeak are they peddling?  I don’t want my opinion shaped, or have to read to paragraph two to get at the truth.

NZ, first country to enact a ban (on smacking) following the publication of the UN Study on “violence against children”

How did we come to this  in NZ?  This putrid piece of PC excrement, disguised as a law, was passed in 2007 to criminalise parents who smack?  It came in under the government of Helen Clark, after a UN publication on violence against children.  Helen Clark has been amply rewarded – she is now third in power at the UN.

smacking referendumIt was brought in despite public petitions and protests, and without a referendum.  It was finally put to public referendum under John Key’s government in 2009, where it was asked “Should a smack as part of good parental correction be a criminal offence in New Zealand?”  A whopping 87.4% of NZ answered ‘no’.  Nothing happened.  Why not, and why haven’t we been listened to?

John KeyJohn Key’s assurances are in direct conflict with what groups like Barnados, the Children’s Commissioner and Plunket are telling parents, and the way the anti-smacking law is being enforced by the police, CYF and the Family Court. And in September 2010 in Parliament, all political parties, except for ACT, sent a clear message that a light smack is not ok when they rejected the very amendment that National MP’s had been vigorously lobbying for when in opposition! Law-abiding parents raising great kids are now confused.

Now, in 2020

Things have got a lot worse for parents since this UN-mandated law was enacted.  We’ve got big government in a small country and this is what it looks like.  If you’re a parent under stress, be careful reaching out to Plunket.  They’re no longer to be trusted and will get the state involved.
