The wise men, who they were, and why the biblical account holds water

Herod was really upset when the Magi rode into Jerusalem with their entourage after the birth of Jesus.  The Magi had made a journey of over 1000 miles to worship the King of the Jews.  And that title did not belong to Herod.

The Magi were the wise men – the king makers.  No Persian was ever able to become king unless he was approved of and crowned by them.

Being astronomers, they knew about the coming King and the constellation where his star would arise, from knowledge handed down by the prophet Daniel in Babylon.

Their story is preserved in Matthew 2.   This is an account that holds water; in other words it stacks up to scrutiny.  Their resting place is preserved in the account of Marco Polo, the famous 13th century Venetian explorer.  He claimed that he was shown the three tombs of the Magi at Saveh south of Tehran in the 1270s:

“In Persia is the city of Saveh, from which the Three Magi set out when they went to worship Jesus Christ; and in this city they are buried, in three very large and beautiful monuments, side by side. And above them there is a square building, carefully kept. The bodies are still entire, with hair and beard remaining. One of these was called Jaspar, the second Melchior, and the third Balthasar.”

wisemen“Messer Marco Polo asked a great many questions of the people of that city as to those three Magi, but never one could he find that knew aught of the matter, except that these were three kings who were buried there in days of old.
However at a place three days’ journey distant he heard of what I am going to tell you. he found a village there by the name Cala Ataperistan, which is to say, “The castle of the Fire Worshippers.” And the name is rightly applied, for the people there do worship fire, and I will tell you why.
They relate that in old times three kings of that country went away to worship a prophet that was born, and they carried with them three manner of offerings, Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh; in order to ascertain whether that prophet were God, or and earthly King, or a Physician. For, said they, if he take the Gold, then he is an earthly King; if he take the incense then he is God; if he takes Myrrh he is a Physician.”

Persia is now modern day Iran, and Tehran is to the north of Saveh.

The ground that can’t hold water

Another legend about Saveh is the Lake of Saveh. It is a lake which is said to have been located near the city.  According to the legend mentioned in historical Persian texts, this lake dried out on the night of the birth of Muhammad, Islam’s prophet …

Muhammed came along about 600 years later.  Rejecting Christ, he founded Islam, declaring Judaism and Christianity were “wrong.”  I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether his claims hold water.  If I don’t blog again before Christmas, I wish you a happy Christmas.  And may you walk with the wise.  “He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Proverbs 13:20

Don’t allow the eye to fool the mind

EyeWhere is the best place you’ve ever been to celebrate the New Year?  For me it was in Sydney.  This year Sydney’s fireworks featured an eye on the Harbour bridge, which I found odd considering their theme was “Shine”.

Eye of Lucifer on streets of SydneyIt was the second time in a week I’d see that eye.  I watched a movie with my son called “Now you see me”.   Actually its a really entertaining movie, just be aware of all the programming and the blatant eye of Horus imagery.  My son works at a Video rental store and notices the eye turning up in a lot of different movies. I was thinking “yes, I do see you.”  The eye is turning up everywhere, which begs the question; why?  What are we being conditioned for?

What does the eye represent?  In the movie “Now You See Me” it is clearly stated that the symbol of the Eye originates from the Ancient Egyptian symbol of the Eye of Horus.  Horus is one of the oldest gods.  One eyed, legend has it he lost an eye after he fought with Set for the throne of Egypt.  Horus is Lucifer.

Freemasonry sees Horus as the “All seeing eye of Lucifer”.  His eye is one of their symbols.

On the US $1 bill, the Eye is positioned above an unfinished pyramid with thirteen steps, as the capstone.

The eye pictured here as the cornerstone is the eye of Horus.

Can the Bible shed any light on this?

Jesus spoke of himself being the stone the masons rejected A stone that would cause men to stumble.

He speaks of this in Matthew 21, where He told a parable about “the wicked tenants” who were put in charge until “the owner of the property” returns.  He was addressing the wealthy and powerful chief priests and Pharisees at the temple in Jerusalem – the religious establishment who despised and rejected Him, “the son of the property owner.”

‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;
the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’

 “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.  Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”  Matthew 21:42

Jesus also addressed the issue of the eye of Horus\Lucifer.  This time He is on the Mount, teaching the people; “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth” He warned, before going on to teach about the eye;

“The light of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!  Matthew 6:22

He finished with another warning;  No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”  Matthew 6:24

I get the obvious meaning – not to worship money.  The meaning about the eye was not so clear, until you see the eye above the unfinished pyramid.  I can’t help thinking that Jesus may as well have held up the US dollar bill to illustrate His message.

After Jesus gave us these warnings, He went on to reassure us not to worry about food or clothing;

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’
or ‘What shall we wear?’
For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows
that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things
will be given to you as well.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about
itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:25

It’s worth thinking about.  If the whole monetary system collapses, bringing us into the New World Order – there is a way through this mess.   It depends on who you put your faith in and which Kingdom you seek.
