Redefining marriage – is it a sign of the age?

gay marriageI’ve been thinking about the signs of the times.  Is same-sex marriage a sign of the age?

What will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus was asked by his disciples.  His reply is in Matthew 24.

For signs, Jesus referenced Noah;  “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” Matthew 24:37-39

Years ago I took it to mean that the end of the age would be unexpected.  Otherwise, how could life be going on as normal with people partying and getting married?  And wasn’t marriage a moral thing to do?

Now that same-sex marriage has “queered the pitch,” so to speak, I’m wondering what kind of marriages Jesus was talking about.

polyamoryBut I don’t think the moral slide will end at gay marriage. I’m sure there’ll be polygamy and polyamory and God knows what else.

What was going on in the days of Noah?  Genesis 6  records strange marriages that produced Nephilim and resulted in so much wickedness that it brought on the flood of Noah.

In Noah’s time, the rainbow followed judgment.  In our time, will judgment follow the rainbow?marriage

By the way, a few things have been stolen here – like the rainbow, the word ‘gay,‘ and the marriage covenant.

The rainbow I’m talking about is not the same as the one we see in the sky after rain.  In the gay community, the rainbow is six colours.  Their intention was to have a flag with eight colours – turquoise for magic/art and pink for sex.  These were abandoned because it was too expensive to replicate and pink is not a natural colour.  It’s a combination of red and violet, at opposite ends of the rainbow.

Gay used to be happy and carefree.

The marriage covenant is defined in the Bible (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31 and by Jesus in Matthew 19:5) as the woman and man being “one flesh.”  In the Bible, Sodom and Gomorrah serve as an example of what happens when cities go after “strange flesh.”  Jude 1:7  Is it a warning we should take note of?

  1. Homosexuality is a sin; it is a perversion of what the Lord intended between man and woman. If the sin of homosexuality and other sins increase in the earth, what is left but God’s judgment on sinful men.

You probably have heard of the Black Death (bubonic plague) outbreak in Madagascar recently. I don’t know if it will get worse or die out. It wouldn’t surprise me if it got worse and went worldwide.

Wrath of God: The Black Death

    1. Hi Tim, Nice to hear from you, I’m sorry I haven’t been keeping up with the blog, I’ve been busy with family stuff as my daughter is getting married soon.
I’ve been praying, about same-sex marriage as it’s just been voted in by the people of Australia., 61% in favour. I don’t understand it but know it’s a sign of the times. I know homosexuality is sinful – but I have two members of my extended family who are ‘gay’ – my god-son and husband’s niece. They know I love them even though I can’t go to their weddings. I hate the evil agenda behind all of this, people who are pushing secular humanism and promoting this lifestyle. They don’t care about the spiritual well-being of our families or our societies. It’s not going to stop at same-sex marriage – the Transgender lifestyle is now being promoted and then God only knows what after that. All we can do is expose the works of darkness and pray. How are you doing?

      1. I am doing well. I have been here in northern California for the past month. My friends have a motel and a cow-calf herd. We have to ship four loads of cows to Lovelock, Nevada this morning.

It is really nice country around here: high desert ranch country. They call it the California Outback; we are right next to the Warner Mountains. We got a couple inches of snow two nights ago. I could be here through the winter.

      2. I’ve had a look at the Californian Outback on the internet, it looks like big sky, plains, mountains and wide open spaces. I hope you get to winter there.

  2. I tried to hitchhike out yesterday, but the Lord was not in it, so I hitchhiked back to my friends’ place. Sometimes I will misread what the Lord is telling me. I could be here for the rest of the winter.
