Someone has the guts to say it out loud instead of blaming the victims of crimes committed by Muslim immigrants.

The president of the Czech Republic has claimed it is ‘practically impossible’ for Muslims to integrate into modern Europe.

Daily News reports that while speaking on local TV, President Milos Zeman also blamed the New Year’s Eve sex attacks in Cologne, Germany, on ‘Muslim culture’. Zeman is known for his fiery anti-migrant comments and has previously accused refugees ‘with iPhones’ of exploiting their children to get asylum in the EU.

Here’s what the Czech president said:

“The experience of Western European countries which have ghettos and excluded localities shows that the integration of the Muslim community is practically impossible. Let them have their culture in their countries and not take it to Europe, otherwise it will end up like Cologne (referring to the mass New Year’s Eve assaults on women in Germany and elsewhere). Integration is possible with cultures that are similar, and the similarities may vary.”

Zeman, a 71-year-old leftwinger and the first-ever directly elected president of the Czech Republic, has repeatedly spoken out against the surge of migrant and refugee arrivals in Europe.

Earlier this month, Zeman claimed the influx was masterminded by Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood which uses money from several states to finance it in a bid to ‘gradually control Europe’.

It followed controversial statements accusing refugees and migrants of risking their children’s lives crossing the Mediterranean in order to use them to secure a right to remain in the EU. ‘They[children] serve as human shields for guys with iPhones to justify the wave of migrants,’ Zeman said in an interview with a Czech tabloid in November. ‘Those hiding behind the children … in my opinion, do not deserve any compassion. They bring the children over in rubber dingys, knowing they might drown.’

Late last year, Zeman called the surge in refugee numbers ‘an organized invasion,’ urging young men from Iraq and Syria to ‘take up arms’ against the Islamic State (IS) group instead of running away.

More than one million migrants reached Europe in 2015, most of them refugees fleeing war and violence in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, according to the United Nations refugee agency.

But few asylum seekers have chosen to stay in the largely secular Czech Republic, an EU and NATO member of 10.5 million people, with the majority heading to wealthier Germany and other western EU states.  Statistics published in July last year, showed that only 409 people were seeking asylum in the central European nation, with some 3,100 refugees living in the country.

Black star blind

david-bowie-lazarusI was sad to hear about Dave Bowie’s death at the age of 69.  I grew up with his music.  We thought of buying the album “Blackstar” he released days before his death.  His album is set to pass Adele on the sales charts.  After having a look at the music video, I decided not to.  It’s too dark.

It’s about an alien trapped on earth, clinging to hope of some kind of immortal life in space.  There’s a lot of occult symbolism with that black solar disc, all open for interpretation.  Who knows what it means?  Not me.  But I know creepy when I see it.  About a minute into the clip “Blackstar” David appears, wearing a bandage over his eyes with buttons sewn on.  He sings “At the centre of it all, at the centre of it all, Your eyes, Ah-ah-ah.”

Three’s a skeleton floating up to the Blackstar while a group of women are performing some sort of execution ritual.  At the 3.2 minute mark.  At the 6.17 mark there’s three scarecrows on what look like crosses, with knots on their wrists.  Knots have an association with magical power.  The scarecrows also have bandages with buttons over their eyes.

Coins used to be put over the eyes of the dead, so the soul could pay Charon to be ferried across the river Styx.  But what do buttons mean?

Coraline2There’s a movie called “Coraline” that uses the theme of having buttons over the eyes.  Coraline is bored in her new home until she finds a secret door and discovers an alternate version of her life on the other side. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life and the people in it only much better.  But this seemingly perfect world turns dangerous, and her other parents, who are wearing buttons over their eyes, try to trap her forever.  “You’re in terrible danger girl” a ghost warns.

Here’s the Trailer, it’s about 2.5 minutes long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO3n67BQvh0

David’s also wearing buttons over his eyes in “Lazarus.” That’s the track I looked at to begin with, hoping that his use of “Lazarus” explained his hope in the resurrection.  He sings “Look up here, I’m in heaven, I’ve got scars that can’t be seen, I’ve got drama, can’t be stolen, Everybody knows me now.”

In the second verse of Lazarus David Bowie sings “Look up here, man, I’m in danger, I’ve got nothing left to lose …”

The story of Lazarus comes from the Bible, John 11:1-44. He was a friend of Jesus, and he died, but Jesus brought him back to life on the fourth day.

“Lord,” Martha (the sister of Lazarus) said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”

Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

Before he brought Lazarus back to life, Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life.  The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Did David Bowie believe it?  Do you?  That’s the key.

As for the button eyes, there are none as blind as those who cannot see.

Jesus talked about they eyes being the lamp of the body; The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!”  Matthew 6:22

“At the centre of it all, at the centre of it all, Your eyes, Ah-ah-ah.”
