Economist cover 2015 # Angela Merkel

Angela Merkel's hands

Angela Merkel’s hands, cover of Economis 2015

In January I blogged about the cover of the Economist, “The world in 2015“.  It was produced by powerful people who feel secure in their wealth and power and arrogantly think they are the smartest people in the world.  In their words they “press forward against unworthy, timid ignorance obstructing their progress.”  That would be us.

I’d been pondering that cover.  God has chosen the simple things of this world in order to shame the wise, so I prayed for wisdom.  I’ve been given some answers about their cryptic, creepy signals – too much for one blog post.  I’ll start with Angela Merkel.  Is that hand gesture a signal?  Is there a sign like that in Freemasonry or the occult?

Merkel and sign of AuromothIndeed there is.  It’s one of the grade signs of the Hermetic (Hermes) Order of the Golden Dawn, an inner order of Rosicrucianism.  In Rosicrucianism the sign is called ‘Practicus’.  In their own words, the cross of especial symbolism in the Grade of Practicus is the Swastika, called also the Fylfot Cross.  Source:

Rosicrucianism is a philosophical secret society. It holds a doctrine or theology “built on esoteric truths of the ancient past”, which, “concealed from the average man, provide insight into nature, the physical universe and the spiritual realm.”  Rosicrucianism is symbolized by the Rosy Cross or Rose Cross.  In the Mysteries roses were sacred to Isis. It is also the flower of her son Horus, the god of silence.  Source:

The Rose in the Rosy Cross is a symbol of transmutation.

In their words, “Rosicrucian duties lead us to the solution of the great problems of our Science, the transmutation of the Elements, the fixing of the Volatile, and volatilization of the Fixed.”  Source:

Transmutation is defined as an act that changes the form or character or substance of something.  A qualitative change.  In physics it’s the change of one chemical element into another (as by nuclear decay or radioactive bombardment).  Think about what the physicists are doing at the Large Hadron Collider at Cern, Fermilab and other Colliders and you’ll get the picture.

What do we know about Angela Merkel, who is described as the de facto leader of the European Union, and by Forbes as the most powerful woman in the world?  Her father was a Protestant Pastor.  She grew up in East Germany and entered politics at the age of 36, after German reunification.  She had a meteoric rise to power.  After her first election, she was almost immediately appointed to the Cabinet.  After four years she was promoted to becoming Minister for the Environment and Nuclear Safety.  Before entering politics Merkel was a physicist.  This is significant.

She holds a PhD in physics and conducted research in quantum chemistry.  Merkel worked and studied at the Central Institute for Physical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences in Berlin-Adlershof from 1978 to 1990.   Her first husband, Ulrich Merkel, was a physics student.  Her second and current husband is quantum chemist and professor Joachim Sauer, who has largely remained out of the media spotlight.   Source:

Is Merkel a Rosicrucian?  She identifies herself as a member of the evangelical church, believes in God and says religion is her constant companion.  But Satan’s throne is still in Germany, at the Pergamum Museum in Berlin.  Has she gone past traditional Christian belief into “the mysteries” ?  Would studying science at the quantum level change her beliefs?

Merkel visits Cern 2008

As CERN prepares for the start of the Large Hadron Collider in 2008, Angela Merkel paid a visit to the ATLAS experiment at Cern.

In their vows, the Rosicrucian candidate is asked; “Will you endeavour to discover the secrets of the Material World by practical Work?”  Source:
Did she choose to do this?  Is this the reason she chose quantum science before entering politics?

Is she making the sign of Practicus?  It could be an habitual hand gesture, but it seems a deliberate, rather than natural pose for hands.  Her hands have not adopted this pose on her visit to Cern in 2008.

There will be more about Cern in my next blog post.
